The radiotherapy technicians
The radiotherapy technicians (MTRA: medical-technical-radiology assistants) assist the medical specialists and physicists in pre-treatment procedures, such as organizing the planning computer tomographs (CT scans), mask preparation, treatment simulation, and the planning of treatment.
The radiotherapy technicians perform the daily radiations, whereby particular emphasis is placed on careful positioning and immobilization of the patient to prevent movement during radiation. The technicians perform continuous quality controls during the course of treatment. They are in charge of the treatment schedule and of giving appointments. They are available for problems and questions at any time.
